We purchased our first home in Baltimore, MD, within the neighbor of Remington during May 2005. It was a cute 2 story, with full basement, 2BR 1B, and enclosed front porch. This blog documents our work on the house and life during that time. A project we will never forget :)

A little dark, but this is the back bedroom closet.. sheetrocked the inside.. 95% of the wiring in the back bedroom is done...  Posted by Picasa

A view from the other direction. You can see the skylight is enclosed.. We still have to do the sheet rock inside the skylight... Posted by Picasa

the upstairs sheetrock is coming along.. Pam and Bill stopped by to help out.. the recessed lights turned out well...  Posted by Picasa

Beth is intently communicating with the computer... Beth did most of the wall framing to her right. I finished the corner of the bulk head next to the front wall... what a pain.. Posted by Picasa

Beth whipping up some sunday morning breakfast before we start working on the house. Momiji is always trying to help Posted by Picasa

We finished insulated and put plastic over the entire ceiling area before we put the 'strapping' up for the drywall Posted by Picasa

more pics of the plastic, and we started the strapping... screws are working much better than the nails and work better for adjustments Posted by Picasa

Now you see her, now you don't. The floor upstairs has been repaired... I'm getting much better at it. Using the router is the way to go. Posted by Picasa

See if you can find the ball at the top of the light post... It says 2005 and is next to the wreath lights in the middle of the third floor on the far left house.. It dropped down to the 2006 sign at the bottom of the post...  Posted by Picasa

Happy New Year !! Posted by Picasa

We started putting the drywall up in the linen closet but had to start cleaning up to have some friends over for new years.. We had some drinks and went to the 'baby ball drop' in hampden... Nice time.. Posted by Picasa

A view from out back.. I did my best to seal the outside and keep the rain out.. hopefully we'll get someone to put the siding on soon !! Similar to what you can barely see on the house in the left of the picture. Posted by Picasa

A view standing in what will be the back bedroom... Posted by Picasa

Two new windows !! We decided to go with two of the same size windows, tall enough to put your bed under... Beth started insulating the back cantilever. We will need to get the back cantilever, or bump out, covered in some 1/4" plywood and vinyl siding. The back is pretty rotten and the old shingles are barely keeping the rain out. Posted by Picasa

Momiji is saying 'what the hell are they doing', 'I picked some crazy owners, they just keep tearing sh!t up'..... Posted by Picasa
