We purchased our first home in Baltimore, MD, within the neighbor of Remington during May 2005. It was a cute 2 story, with full basement, 2BR 1B, and enclosed front porch. This blog documents our work on the house and life during that time. A project we will never forget :)

Work Plateau...

Well, it's been a few days since our last post. We took May 31 off and stayed far away from our work ! Beth's 28th Birthday was very nice.. We did some hiking around Rock State Park in MD around BelAir.

We are finalizing plans and drafting some contracts with the HVAC and Plumber. HVAC should start next week and be complete about a week after starting. During this time we will be doing some framing on the second floor to get the tub, toilet, and sink in place for plumbing. Then we hope to get the plumbing in as soon as his schedule permits. The plumbing should only take a couple days. From there its up to us to finish framing, wiring the electrical, and hanging drywall. We'll probably have someone come in and do the mudding and finishing of the drywall.

We'll be fielding advice and tips from Beth's uncle who is a registered electrician in MD, and getting some info from our friend Shorty who is a carpenter in Baltimore.

Yesterday we had a meeting with an Architect for our Res Hill, Linden Ave property, and didn't get out until around 7pm. Decided to go out for dinner, grab our mail at the new house, and do some things around the apartment..

First order of business is getting a hand rail out front, cleaning any debris from the back yard, and securing a new insurance company after building the back deck and putting the front stair hand rail up.

Then sistering any joists that need work, and shimming the floors to make everything more firm.

Framing will be done after this...
