We purchased our first home in Baltimore, MD, within the neighbor of Remington during May 2005. It was a cute 2 story, with full basement, 2BR 1B, and enclosed front porch. This blog documents our work on the house and life during that time. A project we will never forget :)

the rest of the first week...

well its getting tough remembering what we did when... so ill just catch us up to current status...

we removed the plaster ceiling on the entire first floor... removed hte "dividing walls" between what would be considered the dining area and the kitchen... took out the encompasing case for the duct work... removed the wall dividing the bsaement stairs and the living area... removed the 1/4 bath from the kitchen...

i must take the time to state it was against my better judgement to remove the 1/4 bath... but, no one seemed to appreciate a toilet in the kitchen like i did... its just sooo unique... oh well... since no one agreed with me and i was too tired to stop brian from tearing it down... down it came...

ok back to what has been completed... we designed a floor plan for the second floor...

then on sat my mom and bill (with his 6 broken ribs), my cousin adam, and our friend micah came to help us take it all to the dump... we took 9 truck loads of materials to the dump on sat... i think its 12 total so far... then once all that was out... we picked up more plaster and currently have about 20 bags of plaster in the living room ready to go to the dump... :)

brian also tore down the brick stairs leading to the non-existant back porch and constructed temporary stairs... you wouldnt believe the rodents escaping the stairs when we did that... bigger than anything ive ever seen in mcdonalds... :)

after all was said and done... it was nice to be siting on the back steps looking out at a mostly trashless back yard...

cant wait till we can move in :)
