We purchased our first home in Baltimore, MD, within the neighbor of Remington during May 2005. It was a cute 2 story, with full basement, 2BR 1B, and enclosed front porch. This blog documents our work on the house and life during that time. A project we will never forget :)

june 3rd, 4th, and 5th

this weekend was jam packed with productivity... again a special shout out to wendy and austin who donated another 10 hours each of their lives to our home... without them we would not have 1/2 the work done we did... you guys are the best!!

so here, hopefully, is a comprehensive list of what we did over the weekend...
* trip to home depot fri for hardware to secure joists
* sat two trips of junk to the dump
* thought out the framing for 2nd floor
* decided to follow the roof line on the second floor after visiting sandy and annies place... so removed the ceiling in the 2nd floor all except the back bedroom
* removed all nails and screws from lumber and placed in basement for future use
* repaired cut joist supporting kitchen
* poured cement for ac unit to sit upon
* not enough concrete- trip to home depot for 4 more 80# bags of concrete
* finished concrete slab
* repaired concrete slab from kitten foot prints approx. 4 times
* sun trip to home depot for 90 2x4x8's for framing of 2nd floor
* cleaned up 1st floor and brought lumber into future living room
* repaired cut joists supporting 2nd floor bathroom
* repaired other split/cracked joists
* cleaned up back yard... looks sooo nice and pretty :)
* measured for hand railing in front of house

i feel like i am missing soooo many little tasks that we did along the way because that just doesnt sound like enough work for as sore as i am... :)

soon to come...
* assemble and install front step hand railing
* finish sistering joists
* secure stairs
* skim floors
* HVAC
* plumbing
* ordering of kitchen cabinetry
* frame out 2nd floor
* frame out 1st floor

again i feel like i am forgetting sooo much... things are coming together well and we are enjoying most of the tasks... we dont so much enjoy sistering joists and i dont think well like securing the stairs... but were looking forward to framing and getting the HVAC and plumbing in...

enjoy the photos...
